UAAP Season 85 Rookie of the Year Kevin Quiambao of La Salle has been tapped by Strong Group coach Charles Tiu to take the spot of ailing Gilas naturalized player Ange Kouame after getting the release of the Green Archers management at the last minute.
Quiambao, the 21-year-old slotman, however is in a race against time to have his visa processed since the Strong Group squad, which will be reinforced by NBA veterans Renaldo Balkman, Nick Young and Shabazz Muhammad, is set to leave on Thursday, January 25 for United Arab Emirates to participate in the 2023 Dubai International Basketball Championships.
