BETTER-THAN-EXPECTED 2022 growth results and other economic data released on Thursday drove the stock market and the peso in different directions.

The peso strengthened by 23 centavos to close at P54.40 against the dollar while the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) lost 38.66 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at 7,042.70.
