Of all the legal opinions handed down throughout the two-century history of the United States Supreme Court, only one is commemorated by an annual citizens' march to assail it, and it is the ruling docketed as "Roe et al. vs Wade, District attorney of Dallas country' or Roe vs Wade for short, which was handed down on Jan. 23, 1973.

In all the 50 years since the ruling, the early pilgrimages were reinforced by new generations of young men and women for whom no cause in America will ever matter as much as this.
