FOR some chroniclers, the year 1972 marked the last appearance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the islet of Cabra, Lubang island in Mindoro.

The supposed visions were first reported on Dec. 6, 1966 by a group of sixth graders from the Cabra Elementary School. They described the figure in the alleged apparitions as a beautiful lady "bathed in light and always smiling, wearing a white robe and a blue sash around her waist," standing before them suspended in midair. She identified herself as the Immaculate Conception.
