INVESTOR jitters pulled the peso and stock market down on Monday, with the currency falling back to the P54:$1 level, and the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) again dropping below 7,000.

The peso snapped a three-day winning streak to close at P54.39 against the US dollar, weakening by 71 centavos.
