BASED on the Global Consumer Pulse Survey by TransUnion, an increase in digital fraud attempts in the Philippines has been observed during the pandemic, with 44 percent of Filipino consumers targeted by digital fraudsters.

In the last quarter of 2022, the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) reported that local and international scammers have defrauded unsuspecting Filipinos of millions of dollars.
