A strong magnitude 6.6 earthquake occurred early Friday morning in Davao Occidental, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
However, Phivolcs chief Teresito "Toto" Bacolcol told The Manila Times via Viber that both damage to infrastructure and aftershocks are not expected from the latest tremor that took place around 4:02 a.m. some 377 kilometers southeast of Sarangani Island, also in the same province.
