Cañas rules Tagoloan chess tournament

THE revival of a prestigious chess tournament in Tagoloan town, Misamis Oriental saw the emergence of a new champion and the triumph of youth against seasoned players.

Khent Lourence Cañas, a 15-year-old student of Tagoloan National High School, topped the combined elementary and high school category at the recently-held 1st Mayor Nadya Emano-Elipe FIDE Rated Chess Tournament at the Tagoloan Dome in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
