PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday urged local officials to help push for the passage of his administration's legislative priorities, particularly those meant to further empower local government units (LGUs).

Speaking at the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) National Convention 2023 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, the Chief Executive reiterated that as elected officials, they have the constitutional mandate to come up with policies to uplift the lives of the public given their local autonomy and power over the decentralization of powers.
