Adultery is not a continuing crime

Dear PAO,

I have recently learned of my wife's infidelity. My sources and personal information show that the infidelity has been ongoing for years. I was briefly informed of the so-called crime of adultery. As such, may I know if the infidelity of my wife or the act of sexual intercourse with her paramour would be counted as one single offense for the whole duration of her illicit affair, or would each sexual act be treated and considered as a separate offense?
