THE total length of coastline affected by the oil spill from the motor tanker MT Princess Empress that sank off the coast of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro has reached 55.5 kilometers, according to the latest situation report issued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

In the report, the PCG said that as of March 13, a total of 45 kms of Oriental Mindoro's coastline, six kilometers of Antique's, or at least three barangay (villages) in Caluya town, and 4.5 kilometers of Palawan's have been affected by the oil spill.
