THE trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is affecting the eastern section of Mindanao where cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Weather forecaster Grace Castaneda said that the weather disturbance has a slim chance to escalate into a tropical depression.
