BACOLOD CITY: Hog suppliers in Negros Occidental province have chosen to transport live pigs to buyers in Luzon, particularly Metro Manila, after Cebu province banned the entry and passage of hogs and pork products into its ports going to the Eastern Visayas region.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia has not yet responded to his letter to allow hogs from the province to pass through the Cebu ports.
