THE New People's Army has "set up camps in at least 15 towns in Bohol," towns that "were previously cleared of NPA influence." The Bohol Tribune made this stunning allegation in an article published last March 10, quoting unnamed sources in the Philippine Army.

This story comes after the March 9 exchange of gunfire between rebels and government troops in a remote corner of Hanopol Norte, Balilihan. Subsequently, the Army reported that the NPA in Bohol was reduced to nine armed combatants. This is slightly down from the 10 persons and 11 firearms tallied by the military last October 2022.
