IN a show of supremacy in the seas, a US warship, considered the first of the America-class amphibious assault ships and the fourth warship to bear this name, made its first port call in Manila but clarified that it was here for "rest and recreation" for its servicemen.
The USS America (LHA 6), with 1,100 on board, is docked at Pier 15 of the Manila South Harbor until Thursday, March 23, 2023.
