BANGKOK: Progress toward achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the Asia-Pacific is lagging, requiring efforts to be doubled to catch up, according to a United Nations report released in Thailand's capital Bangkok on Wednesday.

The region has only achieved 14.4 percent of the progress required, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (Escap) warned in its latest report, adding that at its current pace, it would take another 42 years for the region to reach all goals.
