MANY graduates of law are now preparing to sit for the bar examinations. I have only admiration for those who must face this ordeal. There is no doubt that it remains one of the toughest examinations to hurdle in the country.

I have always considered it a distinct privilege to have been a son of two lawyers: a father who became a Court of Appeals justice and the founding chairman of the Legal Education Board, and a mother who was a law dean. So, let us be clear: My admiration for the legal profession is beyond question. I count it as one of my achievements that I have been a professor to many lawyers — and even judges!
