INDIA must stop its crackdown on Kashmiri activists, a United Nations expert said on Friday, calling for greater accountability.

The appeal of Mary Lawlor, UN special rapporteur on the situation of human rights defenders, came after the latest arrest of prominent rights defender Khurram Parvez, who had been in detention for more than a year on charges related to conspiracy and terrorism.
