BALANGA CITY: As the Holy Week approaches, the seven historical Catholic churches in Bataan warm up for the expected influx of tourists and pilgrims who take part in the traditional Visita Iglesia, Lakbay Dasal and the Stations of the Cross.

The seven pilgrim churches can be easily found being located adjacent to MacArthur Highway. The churches also have one thing in common — its walls are made from the sturdy bricks known as batong silyar.
