The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) has welcomed an order from Malacañang in creating an Inter-Agency Task Force as part of its organization of the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Three countries in Asia are set to host this event, with the Philippines holding games at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, and the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan. Okinawa City, Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia are the co-hosts for this tournament.
