Not a week since revealing he had emergency surgery to remove his gall bladder, actor and senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla, Jr. gathered longtime friends in showbiz media for a catch-up lunch early this week. Held at Quezon City's popular Super Sam restaurant, the senator, who will always acknowledge he owes his enduring political career to being an actor, shared that his doctor prescribed at least three weeks' rest to fully recover from the laparoscopic procedure.

"I know it's only been days since I was discharged from the hospital," he sheepishly admitted in Filipino.
