Senate, DoLE commit to wage increase

THE Senate and the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) are committed to pursue the workers' clamor for a new round of wage increase to cushion the impact of surging prices while maintaining, at the same time, the balance between the interest of the business and labor sectors.

Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri and Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma made the assurance on Wednesday at a forum in Malate, Manila even as they differed on approaches on how to deliver the workers' call for additional benefits.
