THE story of Kenneth Egano is no different from the stories of other fatalities in the punch-for-pay business. They all just wanted a better life and pro boxing presented a ticket out of poverty.

Bantamweight Egano, a 22-year-old native of General Santos City, recently passed away after sustaining head injuries in a fight against Jason Facularin in Imus, Cavite. Egano won the fight, but he collapsed in his corner while the decision was being announced.
