OVER the next 24 hours, the country is expected to have overcast skies with heavy rain and thunderstorms due to the southwesterly wind flow, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Super Typhoon "Mawar" was estimated 2, 000 kilometers east of Southern Luzon while outside the country's area of responsibility, Pagasa said in its 4 p.m. advisory.
