THE designation of Bohol Island as a "global geopark" will provide a sound direction for the protection of the country's geological heritage, Sen. Maria Lourdes Nancy Binay said.
She said the designation of Bohol as Unesco (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Global Geopark "is a big step for the people of Bohol and the country" and will boost tourism.
