Policemen implicated in shabu haul released

SENATORS on Tuesday withdrew the contempt order against the six police officers who were implicated in the alleged attempt to cover up for another police officer who was arrested in connection with the massive haul of P6.7 billion worth of illegal drugs in a Manila raid last year.

The police officers ordered freed from the Senate detention cell are Cpt. Jonathan Sosongco, the relieved head of the PNP Drug Enforcement Unit-Special Operations Unit; MSg. Carlota Bayeta, and Patrolmen Dennis Carolina, Rommar Bugarin, Hassan Kalaw and Hustin Peter Gular.
