EVEN after Severe Tropical Storm "Betty" (international name: Mawar) has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), it will continue to induce monsoon rains in most parts of the country until the weekend, the state weather bureau said on Friday.

Over the next 24 hours, weather specialist Patrick del Mundo of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Occidental Mindoro, Antique and northern Palawan, including Cuyo, Calamian and Kalayaan Islands may experience "flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains" spawned by the southwest monsoon or "habagat."
