Chan awarded for efforts to bring PH, China together

CARLOS Chan is the chairman emeritus of Liwayway Group of Companies, a Filipino multinational with operations across Asia manufacturing and marketing snack foods, confectioneries, and beverages.

He is the eldest of the seven children of Chan Lib and See Ying, who founded Liwayway Marketing Corp. in post-war Manila. Chan and his siblings would help their parents in the business outside school hours, with Chan having to end his studies in architecture to start working full-time in the family business due to his father's poor health.
