OWWA expands scholarship program

THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has doubled the number of scholarships for dependents of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) for academic year 2023-2024.OWWA Administrator Arnel Ignacio said his request to double the 2,500 slots for new scholars this year has been granted.

"I am so privileged that my suggestion to double the number of scholarships for the children of our OFWs this [academic] year was unanimously approved. From the annual 2,500 slots every year, we made it to 5,000 slots so that we can accommodate more OFW children to be part of the scholarship program of OWWA," Ignacio told The Manila Times.
