RENEWABLE energy firm Alternergy Holdings Corp. on Wednesday said that its subsidiary had decided to return its wind energy service contract (WESC) covering the Calavite Passage offshore wind project to the Department of Energy (DoE).

In a filing, Alternergy said that the board of directors of subsidiary Calavite Passage Wind Power Corp. (CPWPC) on Tuesday approved the surrender of the service contract after preliminary studies showed the project to be "unfeasible at this time."
