NORJAN Ismail Abbas returned to the art scene with a new exhibit, "Talukbong at tapis," at the Gateway Gallery Studio on May 11. The exhibit, which ran until May 24, featured 16 works of art and combined new pieces with old ones.

"Talukbong at Tapis" offered another set of takes on the Filipiniana genre, which combined fashion and pictures of everyday life in the islands. In the show, Abbas pictured Filipinos in their simple, mundane activities such as going to church, selling at the market, doing the laundry and daily hygiene habits.
