With October proclaimed as Indigenous Peoples Month by virtue of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) geared to deepen the country's awareness and understanding of Indigenous cultural communities/Indigenous peoples (ICCs/IPs) in the country.
