MANILA, Philippines — The state-run weather agency said on Tuesday that the country was now transitioning toward the dry season as the northeast monsoon or "amihan" was about to end.

Interviewed by The Manila Times via Viber, Administrator Nathaniel Servando of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the agency expected the peak of the dry season (summer) to occur next month until the first week of May.
