MATADI Gateway Terminal (MGT), operated by International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), is implementing infrastructure developments to improve operational efficiency and meet customer demand.
A key project is the construction of a 2.65-kilometer access road linking the Port of Matadi to the Kinkanda traffic circle via SEP (Services des Entreprises Pétrolières) Congo and RN (Route Nationale) 14. The project includes 906 meters of new road and the rehabilitation of 1,746 meters of existing infrastructure. The first phase, a 1.75-kilometer stretch between the Kinkanda traffic circle and Entrée SEP, was completed in June last year. The second phase, which started in February 2025, will extend eastward from MGT to the RN14-SEP Congo entrance.
