A FAIRLY new term, functional literacy, is now used to determine the state of literacy in the country.

On April 4, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) released the results of its 2024 Functional Literacy, Education, and Mass Media Survey (Flemms), with a revised definition and methodology.
