MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) rolled out its expanded benefit packages for rehabilitation, mobility devices, mental health, and heart attack care as part of its continuing effort to improve healthcare accessibility and financial protection under the Universal Health Care (UHC) law.

In partnership with the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD), the package includes coverage for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, psychological support, and a wide range of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and canes.

The expansion also ensures financial coverage for assessments, rehabilitation sessions, diagnostics, and medications, aiming to reduce the economic burden on patients and their families.

The announcement was made during the "Talakayang HeaRT Beat" press conference hosted by DOST-PCHRD on Wednesday.
