THREE biomass power plants in Negros Occidental are scheduled for inauguration either this year or in the next, according to an official of Negros Island Biomass Holdings Inc. (Islabio).

The 20-megawatt San Carlos BioPower Inc. (SCBB) will be energized this year, while the 25-MW North Negros Biopower Inc. and the 25-MW South Negros BioPower Inc. will be inaugurated in the latter part of 2019, Islabio Treasurer Don Mario Dia said at the sidelines of Powertrends 2018 held recently at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
