The number of people infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) daily has grown to 32 from just two in 2009, according to the epidemiology bureau of the Department of Health.

The DoH recorded 1,072 new HIV cases in October alone. Eight of those who got the disease were pregnant.
