EIGHT people identified as Chinese nationals were arrested in a Manila shopping mall for working without permits in the country, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced on Monday.

In a statement, BI acting Intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan Jr. said Cai Zhongyong, Wang Liyan, Cai Yahui, Cai Shaorong, Shi Qingliang, Cai Shunli, Cai Jianting, and Lin Jiaxian were caught while “illegally” selling commodities at the 168 Shopping Mall in Binondo on September 21 and 22, adding some of them allegedly tried to “bribe” some of the Immigration officers to free them.
