Arroyo reiterates strict compliance on surrender of ‘8’ plates

Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday reiterated immediate and strict compliance of her order on the recall of “8” protocol plates on the same day that Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos was seen riding a vehicle bearing the plate number when she appeared before the Sandiganbayan to appeal her conviction.

Marcos, a former first lady, was a board a Toyota Coaster bearing the protocol plate issued in 2013, violating an order at the House of Representatives, which said that only plates issued in under the 17th Congress may be used by lawmakers.
