Sen. Imee Marcos leads reelectionist and comebacking candidates in filing their certificates of candidacy (CoC) for the midterm 2025 elections at the Manila Hotel on Oct. 2, 2024. Marcos was the first to file her CoC as a member of the Nacionalista Party. She was accompanied by her sons Borgy and lawyer Michael Manotoc and former first lady Imelda Marcos. Meanwhile, three more candidates from the camp of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. -- former senators Tito Sotto and Panfilo Lacson and incumbent Lito Lapid -- followed suit. United Senior Citizen Party-list Rep. Milagros Aquino is also seeking a second term as she filed her certificate of nomination, certificate of acceptance (Con-Can). Former lawmaker Gary Alejano is eyeing a comeback as Magdalo representative. He was accompanied by Caloocan mayoralty candidate Antonio Trillanes IV and other party-list members.
