Bicol scribe killed over basketball

DARAGA, ALBAY: Veteran journalist of Bicol Celso Amo, a correspondent for the Philippine Star, was stabbed dead while playing basketball at a covered court here on Sunday morning.

Amo, 66, of Barangay San Roque, usually plays basketball on weekends as part of his exercise. But his life was cut short by Adam Johnson Abanes, 33, of Barangay Dao, Pilar town in Sorsogon who was playing basketball as the victim’s back-to-back player.
