THE wife of a member of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) was killed after a stored improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in their home in North Cotabato on Thursday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) said on Friday.

Maj. Arvin Encinas, WestMinCom spokesman, said that based on the report of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Central, the explosion happened inside Alimoden Masla’s house, killing his wife and critically injuring him and their 10-year-old son. The time of the explosion, however, was not cited in the information.
