SEVENTEEN Chinese allegedly engaged in the manufacture of fake cigarettes were arrested during a raid in a warehouse in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija by joint operatives of the Bureau of Customs-Enforcement Security (BoC-ESS) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) and seized P200 million worth of cigarettes.

Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapeña said on Monday that six-cigarette-making machines, raw materials and fake Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tax stamps valued at more than P200 million, were found at the warehouse in Barangay Pambuan, site of the illegal operation.
