THE Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) signed earlier this month a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Shoko Chukin Bank Ltd. on encouraging investments in the country and strengthening ties between firms in Manila and Tokyo, the agency said on Thursday.

In a statement, BOI said the agreement “establishes mutually beneficial cooperation to promote investment opportunities through investment seminars and missions; exchange information on doing business and industry structures; and other joint efforts that will foster economic and industrial linkages between investors and corporations from Japan and the Philippines.”
