The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) wants to subject large corporations, particularly those that own banks, to its scrutiny and will push for further amendments to its charter, a senior official said.

According to central bank Senior Assistant Governor and General Counsel Elmore Capule, one provision that did not make it into the BSP’s newly-amended charter was the authority “to look into conglomerates.”
