Can Mislatel end PLDT-Globe duopoly?

While many expect the new major player to be bold and ready for war in the telecommunications (telco) arena, can it really hit the bull’s eye and disrupt the market leadership of PLDT Inc. and Globe Telecom?

Filipinos were ecstatic when the third telco — Mislatel consortium — promised services far better than what PLDT and Globe currently offer. The consortium backed by titan China Telecommunications Corp. and Udenna Corp. of Davao-based businessman Dennis Uy emerged as winner in the long search for a challenger to the duopoly.
