The Climate Change Commission (CCC) has lauded President Rodrigo Duterte for urging members of the Association of Southeast Asean Nations (Asean) to step up leadership in addressing climate change in the global community and stand for climate justice.

In his statement during the 34th Asean Summit Plenary in Bangkok, Thailand, Duterte called on Asean member countries to make developed countries accountable for climate change, and to adapt and build resilience by advancing initiatives that care for the people and the environment.
