Forty-two bodies have been recovered from villages in Naga City, Cebu, that were recently hit by a deadly landslide as authorities struggled to find people believed to be buried under the mud, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Sunday.

As of Friday, the death toll was placed at 29.
