The Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI) and historical preservation groups said the China-aided project to build a bridge connecting Intramuros to Binondo would “destroy” some historical sites of the Walled City.

“Our stand is that preservation of heritage is paramount. We are not saying to preserve, you should not develop,” CCPI President Jose Luis U. Yulo, Jr. said on Monday.
